Margaret Chown Fund

Manitoba’s first speech therapist, Margaret Morse (nee Chown) pioneered speech clinics in hospitals, assessing and treating adults and children with communication disorders. Morse was active and engaged in the community all her life. Her volunteerism spanned decades and many organizations, including the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg, University Women’s Club, Manitoba Historical Society and as a Director of the Eckhardt-Gramatte Foundation. She received the Order of Manitoba in September 2020.
