Downtown Winnipeg staple Nathan Detroit’s Sandwich Pad is closing its doors. Established in 1979, the family business began as a small 70-seat sandwich shop which eventually transformed into a 150-seat full-service restaurant and catering operation. Their location in the Richardson Building Concourse always had a family feel, and you knew you were always welcome when the aroma pulled you in. The Nathan Detroit’s Sandwich Pad Legacy Fund has been established to remember their deep connections to our community. The fund is open for gifts from anyone looking to honour the restaurant, celebrate the people or share messages and stories.
Your gift will be pooled and invested with the generated income distributed as grants to local registered charities. As the original gift remains invested, your contribution will continue to benefit the people of Winnipeg in perpetuity.
