Manitoba Inclusion Fund

The Manitoba Inclusion Fund supports activities that promote the inclusion of Manitobans living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

In May 2023 the Manitoba Court of King’s Bench approved a $17 million class-action settlement that was brought against the Government of Manitoba by the former residents of the Manitoba Developmental Centre in Portage la Prairie. As part of the agreement, $1 million of the settlement funds were used to start the Manitoba Inclusion Fund.

The fund is overseen by an Advisory Committee and guided by the principle, “Nothing about us without us.”

Your gift will be joined with others and invested. The money it earns for grants will be distributed to local charities in our community. Your gift will stay invested, so it will continue helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Manitoba forever.
