Lawrie Kyle Memorial Fund

X
Lawrie devoted more than five decades of service to his Springfield community. In 2021, in recognition of his extraordinary service, Lawrie was awarded an Honour 150 medal by the Manitoba 150 host committee – an acknowledgment of a lifetime spent giving back. His steady leadership, generosity of time, and unwavering commitment to his community will leave an indelible imprint and lasting legacy.

His advocacy for seniors was especially impactful and was a cause he cared deeply about. Lawrie was pivotal in the creation of 71 seniors’ housing units in Springfield through his involvement as chair of the Oakbank-Springfield Kinsmen Seniors Complex Inc. and as vice-chair of Springfield Seniors Housing Co-op (Dugald Estates). Lawrie was also co-chair of Springfield Vision 2020, where he passionately advocated for the development of another personal care home in Oakbank.

Gifts to the fund will be directed to support the seniors' projects of Springfield Vision 2020 with Oakbank-Springfield Kinsmen Seniors Complex Inc.
