Heritage - Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre Fund

Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre has partnered with Morden Area Foundation to established this permanently endowed Manitoba Heritage Trust Fund to support their work.

The Manitoba government established the Manitoba Heritage Trust Endowment (MHTE) Fund to stretch gifts to Heritage Trust Funds. Each gift has the potential to be stretched by up to 50 per cent.

The CFDC is a Manitoba and Canadian treasure that houses the nation’s largest collection of marine reptile fossils and the world’s largest Guinness Record holding publicly displayed mosasaur – Bruce. Bruce is the inspiration for Manitoba’s latest provincial emblem – the mosasaur.

The Winnipeg Foundation will generate the tax receipts for all gift directed to this fund under the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program. Gifts to this fund are invested in perpetuity and the annual income generated for grantmaking is distributed to Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre to be used at their discretion.
