COLLOTYPE TRANSATLANTIC FRENCH LINE "S.S. La LORRAINE" ID 10 EML - 16

'Cartes Postale' Divided, cancelled 1911, corner wear, The S.S. La Lorraine was built in 1899 by CGT for the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique French line. It was launched on September 20th, 1899 and sailed her maiden voyage on August 11th, 1900 from Havre to New York. Between 1914 and 1917, the vessel was used as an Armed Merchant Cruiser and renamed S.S. Lorraine II. In 1918, she reverted back to her old name and sailed the Bordeaux and New York route. On October 1st, 1922 she made her last voyage from Havre to New York. She was scrapped in December of 1922.
