Terms & Conditions Toronto Postcard Club (TPC) Auction
The auction will be conducted in Canadian Dollars.
This website is intended to be a friendly and enjoyable experience, but as with anything concerning any kind of transactions there are risks involved and we strongly advise you to understand all of these terms before bidding. If you spot a listing that you feel is violating the general terms and conditions of this website as stated below please let us know by contacting us at info@torontopostcardclub.com
Right to Suspend or Terminate
You agree that the TPC Executive, at its own discretion, may terminate any auction or use of the service immediately and without notice if:
• We believe that you are not abiding by the general rules of this website
• You have repeatedly broken a certain term
• We believe you to be a non paying bidder.
In most cases when we suspect foul play we will suspend your account/listing while we investigate further. If our investigation is conclusive then your account with us will be terminated.
Your Conduct
You are solely responsible for your actions through this website. You must ensure that your participation in the buying of items does not violate any applicable laws or regulations. By this we mean that you must check that you are entitled to buy the relevant item and that you are not prohibited from doing so by any law or regulation. You must not transmit through the service any unlawful, harassing, libelous, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene or otherwise objectionable material. You must not transmit any material that encourages conduct that could constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any applicable law or regulation.
Registration
Access to this website is only available to TPC members who have a paid-up, current year membership.
General Terms
The TPC has made every effort to clearly describe the items offered for auction. If the item is not satisfactory you may return it to the TPC for a refund of the item cost and the cost of the return at the Canada Post letter rate.
Laws
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of Canada.
Rules & Regulations
The auction will be conducted in Canadian Dollars.
You can only make a bid if you are registered and approved. You agree to comply with any instructions or notifications posted on the auction website in relation to use of this auction. Any bid that you make constitutes a legal offer to buy the item. You may not retract a bid under any circumstance. By bidding for an item you agree to be bound by any conditions of sale included in the item's description. Once you place a bid on an item you are obliged to pay that amount for the item should yours be the highest final bid amount.
The winning bid will be the first highest bid placed before the auction closes.
The TPC is entitled to set a reserve price on any auction items, which is the minimum price that the item can be sold for. This is noted as the "Starting Bid". The TPC is not obligated to sell any item for less than the starting bid.
We ensure that your name will not be posted on our auction site at any time and that only the 'Display Name' that you have provided at registration will be shown when you bid. ** Display Names should be an Alias **
You are responsible for all actions taken with your bidding account.
Payment Terms
The auction will be conducted in $Canadian. Payment can be by cheque, money order or by Interac to: treasurer@torontopostcard.club The TPC has no ability to accept credit card payments. Alternative arrangements need to be discussed with the Treasurer prior to bidding in the auction.
Shipment Terms
All cards won by an individual in an auction cycle will be posted together after payment has been received. Items will be shipped by Canada Post. Actual postage charges will be the responsibility of the TPC. The item(s) won can also be picked up in Toronto where a cash payment can be arranged.
