Irv Hanec was a great inspiration and positive guiding light for many people.
For more than five decades he taught and mentored thousands of students, many of whom remained life-long friends. One of the greatest coaches in the history of Manitoba, Irv spent more than 46 years teaching and educating kids to be better people. This fund has been established to continue Irv’s legacy of support for young people.
Gifts to the fund will be held until Irv’s family determines whether the fund will be endowed at The Winnipeg Foundation to offer permanent community support, or flow directly to organizations in our community.
