The Costume Museum of Canada (Dugald Costume Collection Inc.) has partnered with The Winnipeg Foundation to establish this permanently endowed Manitoba Heritage Trust Fund to support their work.
The Manitoba government established the Manitoba Heritage Trust Endowment (MHTE) Fund to stretch gifts to Heritage Trust Funds. Each gift has the potential to be stretched by up to 50 per cent.
The Costume Museum of Canada is a museum of material history focusing on what we wear in relation to social history. Their mission is to collect, preserve, and present articles of attire to document and demonstrate how changes in apparel reflect societal and cultural change in Canada.
The Winnipeg Foundation will generate the tax receipts for all gifts directed to this fund under the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program. Gifts to this fund are invested in perpetuity and the annual income generated for grantmaking is distributed to the Costume Museum of Canada (Dugald Costume Collection Inc.) to be used at their discretion.
