Lac du Bonnet and District Historical Society Inc. has partnered with Lac du Bonnet & District Charitable Foundation Inc. to established this permanently endowed Manitoba Heritage Trust Fund to support their work.
The Manitoba government established the Manitoba Heritage Trust Endowment (MHTE) Fund to stretch gifts to Heritage Trust Funds. Each gift has the potential to be stretched by up to 50 per cent.
The Lac du Bonnet District Museum collects and preserves area artifacts from prehistoric to early pioneer times. At the museum you can discover how the many industries, from transportation to natural resources to farming, contributed to the development of this area. The museum is also home to a growing photo display focusing on the region’s more than 27 nationalities that through the years melded to form the village and RM of Lac du Bonnet.
The Winnipeg Foundation will generate the tax receipts for all gift directed to this fund under the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program. Gifts to this fund are invested in perpetuity and the annual income generated for grantmaking is distributed to Lac du Bonnet and District Historical Society Inc. to be used at their discretion.
