Heritage - Mennonite Heritage Village Fund

Mennonite Heritage Village has partnered with Steinbach Community Foundation to established this permanently endowed Manitoba Heritage Trust Fund to support their work.

The Manitoba government established the Manitoba Heritage Trust Endowment (MHTE) Fund to stretch gifts to Heritage Trust Funds. Each gift has the potential to be stretched by up to 50 per cent.

Mennonite Heritage Village is a family friendly museum that tells stories of the Mennonites who migrated from Russia to Canada, beginning in 1874, with it’s heritage buildings, restaurant, festivals and exhibits. This museum attracts more than 40,000 guests from more than 50 countries annually.

The Winnipeg Foundation will generate the tax receipts for all gift directed to this fund under the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program. Gifts to this fund are invested in perpetuity and a portion of the annual income generated for grantmaking is distributed to the Mennonite Heritage Village to be used at their discretion.
