Heritage - Burrough of the Gleann Fund

Burrough of the Gleann has partnered with Glenboro Area Foundation to established this permanently endowed Manitoba Heritage Trust Fund to support their work.

The Manitoba government established the Manitoba Heritage Trust Endowment (MHTE) Fund to stretch gifts to Heritage Trust Funds. Each gift has the potential to be stretched by up to 50 per cent.

The Burrough of the Gleann Museum opened in 2000 in a building built in 1974 to house the School Division in Glenboro. The Museum provides a glimpse into the lives of early settlers of the Glenboro South Cypress area from the late 1800s to 1950s. It is home to an extensive collection of artifacts donated by the community, organized into displays depicting this period of the community’s history.

The Winnipeg Foundation will generate the tax receipts for all gift directed to this fund under the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program. Gifts to this fund are invested in perpetuity and a portion of the annual income generated for grantmaking is distributed to Burrough of the Gleann to be used at their discretion.
