The School of Contemporary Dancers is committed to listening, learning and further improving our efforts to embrace the values of equality and inclusion. We recognize Canada’s history of unequal treatment of Indigenous and Black peoples and other marginalized groups. We denounce this systemic racism and violence and realize that a statement is not enough. We look to aligning with other arts organizations embracing the values of cultural pluralism in support of racial equality and inclusion. We are committed to educating ourselves to build on policies that promote accessibility to arts training for marginalized groups as a foundation for increasing diversity in the art form.
